Chasing the Morning Light Across London

There is something really special about London at sunrise. Over two early morning walks with my son Jack, we covered more than 25 kilometres through the city, chasing the first light as it transformed some of London's most iconic landmarks.

From St Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge to the Houses of Parliament, The Shard and plenty of hidden corners along the way, the golden morning light gave every location a completely different feel. The city was incredibly quiet, unlike anything I have experienced before. Streets that are usually packed with people were almost empty, giving us the chance to slow down, take it all in and capture London in a way that is rarely seen.

These walks were about more than photography. They were a chance to spend quality time together, enjoy the calm before the city came to life and appreciate just how beautiful London can be when the sun rises over it.

I hope these images give you a glimpse of that peaceful atmosphere and inspire you to see the city from a different perspective.
