I wanted to create a blog post to inform people about this brilliant app that I found for file recovery.
I've recently had a 3tb External Drive (Western Digital) fail. Everything on the drive was lost and the drive became unreadable.
I managed to finally format the drive so it at least showed up as a new drive but I was absolutely devastated that I lost all my files. Some searching on the internet pointed to Stellar File recovery. I was a little bit sceptical at first because of the sheer amount of content that was on the drive.
I installed the programme one morning and set it a deep scan of my drive. This wasn't a quick process due to the size of the drive but I accepted that I'd just leave it running whilst I went to work. Later that evening I returned and I was shocked to find that most of my files had been recovered. Everything from CR2/JPG - documents. It was amazing.
I would throuroghly recommend the software for anyone in the same situation. I cannot tell you how many times I have accidentally wiped a memory card whilst still in the camera! this is perfect for that.
